Help us raise funds for the Minnesota Inventors Congress!

Greetings from the Minnesota Inventors Congress.
Can you imagine preparing for and running the equivalent
of 75 marathons in 75 consecutive days? I can't. Terry Hitchcock did just that
and he has written a book to share his experience.
Below and attached is a letter, from me, filled with
information about your chance to read his amazing story and at the same time,
make a donation to the MIC. Terry has made a special offer to our organization.
He is donating a significant contribution for each book we sell, through his
website. For inventors, runners and people who love a great human interest
story, this would make a great gift!
Please consider forwarding this email to any and all of
the people in your database that you think might be interested in taking
advantage of this great offer.
Letter content:
November 2009
Dear MIC Friends:
Knowing your final objective is key to moving an idea
through the product development process. I just finished reading a new book “A
Father’s Odyssey,” by Terry Hitchcock and Peter Jessen. Terry ran the
equivalent of 75 marathons in 75 consecutive days. Talk about a challenge.
Reading about how he had to train for the mental as well as the physical
aspects of this project was enlightening. Never giving up, facing challenges
and tapping into his network were the keys to his success. Setting a goal and
doing what it takes to achieve it is a common business strategy. What was
different about this story to me was the powerful way he moved through and
addressed each challenge that came his way. Knowing his true purpose - to
honor single parents and their children - kept pushing him to complete his
goal. Inventors need to adopt the same type of mental drive and solid
preparation to move their ideas through the invention development stages, to
achieve each level of success and protect their intellectual property.
We have been offered an exciting opportunity to share
Terry’s story with you. Terry Hitchcock, a Minnesota entrepreneur, has helped
start over 80 companies, and established the state’s largest incubator. He has
an incredible life story…losing his young wife to breast cancer, then his job a
few days after her funeral, raising three children alone…and a few years later,
running over 2,000 miles, the equivalent of a marathon a day for 75 consecutive
days. He ran from the Twin Cities (Minnesota) to the Opening Ceremonies of the
’96 Summer Olympics in Atlanta GA. Hollywood has taken Terry’s story and
recently completed a documentary called “My Run,” narrated by Academy-Award
winner Billy Bob Thornton. The documentary will soon be developed into a
feature film titled “Pushing Life.” “My Run” recently had its world premiere at
the Austin Film Festival and captured the honor of the highest rating from
attendees: http://www.austinfilmfestival.com/new/
Terry has approached us as an organizational supporter and
offered his help. The majority of the proceeds of Terry’s book are currently
being donated to his personal causes: Breast Cancer, Diabetes and
Aspergers/Autism Research. Through December 31, 2009, he is offering the
Minnesota Inventors Congress a significant
donation for each book purchased by you, your friends and business associates.
“A Father’s Odyssey” is a wonderful gift for your
favorite inventor, family member, friend, employee, runner or colleague. Many
times people say they want to help us but don’t know how. This is one of those
ways that you can help us with the click of a link on your computer to his
website. Place your order by clicking the picture below or by visiting http://www.terryhitchcock.com
Click on “Store”. Be sure that “MIC” is shown in the
pull-down menu box under “Choose Sponsor” and then click on “Add to
Cart”. This way, your order will be tracked so the MIC receives its
portion of the proceeds. Terry will sign each book and send a personal
letter and bookmark with each order.

Thank you for considering this offer and supporting the MIC
by taking full advantage of this offer. This gracious offer is only available
through Dec. 31, 2009. This is an exciting way to celebrate innovation,
motivation and the human spirit and to get to know a very special Minnesotan,
Terry Hitchcock.
